Section A. New or restored floor

Appropriate for the majority of oil-based and water-based stains. Respect drying times and follow manufacturer's recommendations carefully. Proceed to an adherence and compatibility test on a board before applying.

Step 1

Sand completely with the wood grain, smooth the surface with a 120 sand paper (DO NOT use steel wool) and remove dust completely with a vacuum cleaner and dry towels.

Step 2

Application must be done at a room temperature between 21º and 25º C (70º and 77º F) and at a relative humidity of 45%.
In order to provide a homogeneous finish, make sure to shake adequately. Let stand at least 10 minutes to allow bubbles to break. This step assures an optimal spreading and a uniform product

Step 3

From this step, follow instructions of the chosen finish :

Apply 3 to 4 coats of FINI-TECH 3000 with the following method of application:

Pour a small amount of FINI-TECH 3000 directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using a Finitec professional applicator or a 6mm roller. Smooth out marks and lines on the finish for a uniform application.

Allow about 2 to 3 hours of drying between coats (may vary according to conditions). It is necessary to sand lightly between coats using a fine sand paper (180). However, it is not necessary to sand before the last coat if the time between applications does not exceed 3 hours.
Apply 3 to 4 coats of FINI-TECH 6000 or 1 coat of FINI-SEAL and 2 to 3 coats of FINI-TECH 6000 with the following method of application:

How to apply ?
Finitec Application 7 Moisten the applicator in the finish.

Finitec Application 8 Start applying it in the corner.

Finitec Application 9

The applicator should be pulled towards you and held at an angle so that a snowplow movement will drag the excess finish towards the uncovered section. Apply light pressure to obtain a uniform layer.

Finitec Application 3

The application must be done in one continuous movement, from one end of the room to the other. At the end of the room, make the applicator do an about face.

Finitec Application 4

Apply the second band of finish in the other direction, by lightly overlapping the section already covered. Do an about face with the applicator at the end of the room.

Finitec Application 10

Wring out the excess finish by firmly pressing down on an unfinished section twice.

Finitec Application 11

Press the applicator along the wall on the section, which has been covered, using a quick 'take-off ' movement. This will smooth out the surface before it starts to dry.

Finitec Application 5

Keep working in this manner, doing these take-off strokes every two band widths for the rest of the room. Pour a new puddle of finish as needed.

Finitec Application 6

To finish near the door, apply the last two rows while pulling the applicator towards you right to the door, bringing the excess finish to the center. Do one more stroke to eliminate demarcation. The applicator shouldn't be saturated at this point. It's important not to pour out too much finish as you finish.

Finitec Application

Apply the finish to the section on the other side of the door in the same way. Use the take-off stroke to blend the two sections in front of the door.

Section B. Prefinished floor (restoration)

Appropriate for the majority of oil-based and water-based finishes. Proceed to an adherence and compatibility test on a board before applying. Otherwise, sand completely to bare wood.

Step 1

Clean thoroughly with Fini-Tech Surface Treatment.

Step 2

Sand uniformly with the wood grain using a 120 sand paper (DO NOT use steel wool) and remove dust completely with a vacuum cleaner and dry towels. It is important to remove completely all shine on the floor (top coat). A more aggressive sanding is needed to restore new aluminium oxide finishes.

Step 3

Application must be done at a room temperature between 21º and 25º C (70º and 77º F) and at a relative humidity of 45%.
In order to provide a homogeneous finish, make sure to shake adequately. Let stand at least 10 minutes to allow bubbles to break. This step assures an optimal spreading and a uniform product

Step 4

From this step, follow instructions of the chosen finish :

Apply 1 to 2 coats of FINI-TECH 3000 with the following method of application:

Pour a small amount of FINI-TECH 3000 directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using a Finitec professional applicator or a 6mm roller. Smooth out marks and lines on the finish for a uniform application.

Allow about 2 to 3 hours of drying between coats (may vary according to conditions).

Apply 1 to 2 coats of FINI-TECH 6000 with the following method of application:

Pour a small amount of FINI-TECH 6000 directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using a Finitec professional applicator. Smooth out marks and lines on the finish for a uniform application.

Allow about 2 to 3 hours of drying between coats (may vary according to conditions).
Apply 1 or 2 coats of FINI-TECH 9000 with the following method of application:

Pour a small amount of FINI-TECH 9000 directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using a Finitec professional applicator. Smooth out marks and lines on the finish for a uniform application.

Allow about 2 to 3 hours of drying between coats (may vary according to conditions).

Section C. Fini-tech 8000 and Fini-Seal

Shake part A container. Add 1 part of part B to 10 parts of part A, mix well and let stand for 15 minutes. Make sure the mixture is homogenous before application.

Step 3

Apply 3 coats of FINI-TECH 8000 or 1 coat of FINI-SEAL and 2 coats of FINI-TECH 8000 with the following method of application:

Pour a small amount of FINI-TECH 8000 directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using Finitec professional applicator or a 6mm roller.

Allow about 2 to 3 hours of drying between coats (may vary according to conditions).

New or restored floor

Do not apply over stain.

Step 1

Sand completely with the wood grain, smooth the surface with a 120 sand paper (DO NOT use steel wool) and remove dust completely with a vacuum cleaner and dry towels.

Step 2

Apply 1 coat of FINI-SEAL with the following method of application :

Application must be done at a room temperature between 21º and 25º C (70º and 77º F) and at a relative humidity of 45%. In order to provide a homogeneous finish, make sure to shake adequately. Let stand at least 10 minutes to allow bubbles to break. This step assures an optimal spreading and a uniform product.

Pour a small amount of FINI-SEAL directly on floor and spread a uniform coat using a Finitec professional applicator or a roller (6mm à 10mm). Smooth out marks and lines for a uniform application.

Allow 1 hour to dry (may vary according to conditions). It is recommended to sand perfectly, using a sand paper (180) before applying the finish. The surface is ready to receive a finish coat after sanding resulted in a fine white powder.

NOTE: FINI-SEAL can be used along with most waterbase finishes. The user must proceed to a compatibility and adherence test on a small surface before application.
