Acousti-Tech
membranes are non toxic, odorless, rot-resistant, non allergenic and antibacterial. The membranes qualify you for LEED® points in environmentally friendly buildings projects (ASTM G21-96 test).
Acoustic Tests

 

Test 1-Thermo acoustic membrane thermal effect (floor insulation)

This test evaluates the temperature results of an Acousti-Tech Ceramic membrane on a tile installation and has been performed in a residential basement by Marc Rosa, Les céramiques Rosa inc.

 

Conditions

  • Room temperature: 68 °F (20 °C)
  • Floor surface : 150 sq.ft. (13.9 m²)

Note : Temperatures have been measured with a digital thermometer, while the radiant heat wire system was not functioning.

 

Results

  • Ceramic floor temperature without Acousti-Tech Ceramic 53 °F (12 °C)
  • Ceramic floor temperature with Acousti-Tech Ceramic 64 °F (17.9 °C)

Note : Every Finitec Canada membrane is thermo-acoustic. Therefore, this test can also be efficient with wood and laminate floors.


 

Test 2-Thermo-acoustic membrane and radiant heat experiment

Acousti-Tech membranes easily
upgrade a radiant heating system.
After few minutes, the floor warms
up faster and after three hours,
maintains a difference of 7 °F (4 °C).
This experiment was conducted by
Nuheat and it was graciously offered
for Finitec Canada’s use.
