The choice of professionals
Fini-Tech 3000 is formulated and renowned for its superior resistance to abrasion. In the Taber Abraser test, it ranked third behind Fini-Tech 6000 and a two-component water-based product. This superior resistance comes from its high level of urethane resin. While enhancing the natural beauty of the wood, Fini-Tech 3000 spreads easily, gives a clear finish and dries within a few hours.
Fini-Tech 3000 is a water-based self-sealing finish highly resistant to wear.

Recommended use:
Fini-Tech 3000 is recommended for residential floors, gymnasiums and moderate traffic commercial floors.
Superior finishes for healthy renovations
Finishes that are safe for the environment
The healthy renovation concept developed by Finitec demonstrates its sense of environmental responsibility. The main difference between water-based and solvent-based coatings is that water, and not toxic solvents, transports the urethane. When Finitec water-based finish dries, the water evaporates, leaving a protective finish on the wood. By contrast, when solvent-based finishes dry, the solvents evaporate into the atmosphere, leaving a strong odour for days. These vapours are inflammable and can even result in explosions.
Solvent-based products (Moisture Cure) or modified oils release a large quantity of volatile organic compound (VOC) dangerous for the environment. Finitec finishes leave no disagreeable odours and eliminate the need to leave the house and to remove food, plants and animals beforehand, thus improving air quality for the residents and professionals doing the job. The VOC count in Finitec water-based products is below environmental standards. What's more, water-based finishes dry very quickly, in two to three hours, while solvent-based finishes often take more than twelve hours to dry.
By choosing Finitec, you're contributing to the well-being of your family and environment.
Finitec water-based finishes constitute a protective barrier which :
- prevents the deterioration of wood caused by abrasion or water
- accentuates the natural beauty of the floor
- adds shine to the floor.
By counting on the most advanced technology in the industry, Finitec has developed a range of water-based finishes that meets not only the needs of professionals but also those of consumers, while at the same time responding to environmental concerns. Finitec finishes are high-yield protective coatings that spread well, are easy to apply and are low maintenance.
Advantages of the range of the Fini-Tech water-based finishes :
- More resistant than solvent-based finishes
- Dry faster (2 to 4 hours instead of 12 hours or more)
- Faint odour, non-toxic and low volatile organic component (VOC) count
- Unalterable finish (doesn't yellow)
- Superior coverage (600 square feet per gallon)
- Non-flammable and non-explosive
- Applicators are cleaned with water
- Fini-Tech 3000 and 6000 need no catalyst therefore there is less loss

The hardest and most resistant in the industry
Fini-Tech 6000 sets the new durability standard for wood floor finishing products. Specially formulated to give maximum durability and resistance to abrasion, Fini-Tech 6000 outclasses all those finishes that, until now, claimed to be the most durable. A unique combination of surface agents gives it exceptional resistance. In the Taber Abraser test, Fini-Tech 6000 was shown to be the most resistant of the one-component finishes.
Recommended use :
Recommended use : Its drying time
and resistance to abrasion make this the ideal
product for commercial locations and other heavy
traffic areas. Fini-Tech 6000 is also perfect
for residential floors in heavy traffic areas
like the dinning or living rooms.

Taber Abraser test |
 |

The Centre de recherche industriel du Québec (CRIQ) (Quebec Industrial Research Centre), at the request of Finitec, tested the comparative resistance to abrasion of Fini-Tech 6000 finish and Fini-Tech 3000 as well as five other water- and solvent-based finishes (modified oils and Moisture Cure). The Fini-Tech 6000 and Fini-Tech 3000 were classed first and third amongst the samples tested.
The varnishes evaluated were applied according to the manufacturers' instructions. The number of layers and drying times were fully respected. Each sample was weighed to determine the true quantity of varnish applied. Then, the sample underwent 1000 rotations with an abrasive disk. After this step, the samples were once again weighed in order to measure the mass (weight) lost.

The application of a sealer allows the pores in the wood to be sealed. The Fini-Seal water-based sealer is used as an undercoat or primer for Finitec finishes.
Formulated for the mos demanding flooring contractors, Fini-Seal is almost odorless, dries rapidly and can be sanded without sticking or clogging of the sandpaper.
Fini-Seal doesn't yellow and preserves the natural wood colour. Once the sealer is applied, the finish can't penetrate the wood, so it stays on the surface where it can build up to protect the wood.
