The luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) : protect and restore. L'équipe Finitec

The Luxury Vinyl Tiles is widely available in specialized flooring stores, home improvement stores, and even hardware stores. It comes in both planks and tiles, and can be installed by floating or glue-down methods, for both residential and commercial uses.

It offers several very favorable features:

  • Looks like wood or stone planks  - very realistic looking imitation
  • It's avaivlable in multiple colors, styles, sizes, and formats
  • Allows to create  unlimited creative designs
  • Waterproof
  • Ideal for kitchens and bathrooms
  • Very durable - resistant to scratches and stains
  • Resists general wear and tear, heavy traffic and rolling loads
  • Easy and quick to install - can be cut with a knife
  • Easy to clean

Even though they are very durable, here are some recommendations we would like to make. Luxury vinyl floors should be regularly cleaned to preserve their beauty. Be sure to choose a specialized, pH neutral cleaner that won't leave any residue. Also, regularly vacuum or sweep to remove dirt, particles, and dust that could cause premature wear on your flooring.

Despite its durability and preventive maintenance, after a while your luxury vinyl floor could look dull, lose its shine, or become very worn out. If that's the case, there's no need to replace it with a new floor covering! It can be easily restored in two easy steps:

Step 1 - Deep Cleaning

Finitec offers a deep cleaner called "Surface Preparation". With a pH of 11, it's more alkaline than neutral, meaning that any contaminants that might detract from the adherence of the 'Tonique' varnish will be removed. After thoroughly cleaning and rinsing, you can move on to step 2.

Step 2 - Apply the varnish

With a Finitec applicator or a 10 mm paint roller without lint, apply 2 coats of Finitec “Tonique” lacquer, waiting 2-3 hours between coats. No need to sand! (see application video).

Your Luxuvy Vinyl flooring will be ready for light traffic about 4 hours after finishing the last coat and you can replace your furniture 24 hours after the final coat.

And there you have it! You have just successfully protected your investment while extending the life of your gorgeous Luxyry vinyl flooring. Share this article to a friend, relative or neighbor who may need to know this option - it will save them from trouble,  the will save money, time and energy!
