	When the floor becomes black or grey, it means there is no more finish on these specific areas and the wood is no longer protected. In this case, you need to completely sand to remove all black or grey spots and then apply one of FINITEC’s finishes.

	What is the best way to maintain my floor beautiful for a long time ?
	Hardwood floors maintenance should be done on a regular basis. First, it is very important to vacuum or sweep the floor in order to remove anything that could scratch the floor. Then clean with Hardwood or Laminate FINITEC Cleaner.

	I would like to recoat my wood floor, but I don’t want to leave the house. Is that possible ?
	Fini-tech water based finishes are the ideal solution because they are odorless, non toxic and they dries quickly to allow a one-day job. You don’t have to leave the house nor moving your plants.

	What is the difference between water-based and solvent-based floor finishes ?
	Both water-based and solvent-based finishes are made of urethane. During application, water or solvent evaporates and allow the urethane molecules to merge and form a coat of finish. The solvents liberated in the air are toxic for your health and the environment. For this reason and because of the odour, you have to leave your house for a few days. The advantage of using a water-based finish is that there is no nasty smell and drying is much more rapid than a solvent-based finish (2-4 hours instead of 12 or more).

	I have a cigarette burn on my wooden floor. Can I remove it ?
	The only way of repairing this kind of damage on a wooden floor is to sand the damaged spot. Afterwards, you will need to put finish to protect the wood. Please check with our customer service for the solution best adapted to your needs.

	May I recoat my wood floor without sanding ?
	Fini-tech finishes can be applied over an existent oil or water based finish. You only have to sand lightly the surface to be covered.
